IREDA is a Public Limited Government company established in 1987, under the administrative control of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy to promote, develop and extend financial assistance for renewable energy and energy efficiency/conservation projects with the motto: “ENERGY FOR EVER”.
The objectives of IREDA are:
- To operate a revolving fund for promotion, development and commercialization of New and Renewable Sources of Energy (NRSE)
- To assist in upgradation of technologies
- To extend financial support to Energy Efficiency & Conservation projects and schemes
