India has low R&D intensity

R&D intensity is the R&D expenditure of the country as a percentage of the GDP.

According to 2007 statistics from UNESCO, Israel has the highest R&D intensity (4.7%), followed by Japan and US. India spent only 0.8% of its GDP on R&D, below the Asian average (1.6%)
