Abhijit Banerjee

More than 30 years’ experience in Advertising, Product/Market Planning and mass communication. Started career with the leading daily, The Statesman, Kolkata, in 1976 as Sub-editor and junior reporter. Worked with Advertising agencies like Contract, Kolkata, and subsequently worked in R. K. Swamy and F. D. Stewart in Delhi and Chennai respectively. Was actively involved in development and creation of national advertising campaigns.

Worked in Emami Ltd, leading cosmetic manufacturer, from 1983 to 1988 and from 1996 to 2000 as Brand and Advertising Manager. Set up and ran my own advertising agency, Prayog Advertising, in Calcutta, Delhi, and Bangalore, India.

Have been involved with Copperstrings group of websites almost from its inception – July 2007. Copperstrings is a part of UK-based group and is aimed at bringing conscious living mainstream. Wrote over 1000 articles for its sister sites Copperwiki, 39 journals, 9 blogs for site Soul and Soil. Member of 75 groups in Copperstrings, many of them created by me.

Currently as Platform Owner of Copperstrings, my primary emphasis is on promoting user-generated content, maintaining and promoting the platform, engaging with members and acquiring new members.
